Challenge
Design, build and deploy the official in-game app for MLB coaches and players — without breaking the game of baseball
Client: MLB Advanced Media + Apple
Responsibilities
• Two Roles: Lead UX Designer and Product Manager
• Design iOS app with novel sports data visualizations and interactions
• Research and envision complex features including video comparison, off-line syncing and customization
• Build and manage UX team
• Create wireframes and prototypes
• Deliver full-resolution mockups, assets, UX specifications
• Collaborate with and align MLB stakeholders and SMEs 
• Ensure successful development and deployment (manage project risk)
Project Success
• Dugout is in active use by 30 MLB teams for real-time in-game data and video 
• Successful deploy on opening day US viewing audience: 3.7 M
• 3 months after deploy, Disney purchased MLBAM for $2.8B
• Internal success for MLBAM-Apple partnership
• Dugout team went on to build Disney+
